The cast and crew of movie Dev.D played a prank with Abhay Deol on his birthday when they were all shooting in Chandigarh. Abhay who was expecting everyone to wish him on his birthday on March 15 was saddened when not a soul did so the whole day. In spite of the fact that Kalki, the leading lady knew about his birthday, nobody gave him a single present. Everyone was planning to surprise him with a party in the evening. Abhay had told Kalki about his birthday the day before as she had a habit of reading the forecast column in the morning. However, when nobody so much as wished him the next day, he was extremely crestfallen. In fact, everybody tried to look as normal as possible.
However, when the shooting got over, he got the biggest surprise as his team threw a party just 15 minutes before the day was to end. At 11.45 pm, a huge birthday cake was called in with everybody showering him with good wishes. It was then that Abhay realised that they had just been teasing him. The party went on till some hours of the morning.
