First it was Rani Mukherji. Now Neil Mukesh has planned that his staff will wear uniforms with his initials 'NM' written on the back of their T-shirts. The uniform encompasses a black T-shirt and blue jeans and are designed by the designer Narendra Kumar. The concise given to Kumar was that the uniforms should look youthful, sporty and trendy. They will be worn by six of his personal staff including his hairdresser, his personal boy and his make-up artiste, among others.
Neil had some problem identifying and searching his staff from among the crowds as majority of the shooting of his debut film Johny Gaddar was shot on the streets of Mumbai. He will also be shooting for Eros International's Freeze, Madhur Bhandarkar's Jail, Ken Ghosh's next film with Tips and Yashraj Films' next, to be directed by Kabir Khan. All these films will have major portions of Neil shooting on the streets and it's difficult for him to spot his staff among the crowds. That's why he thought of this unique idea of having a uniform, which will have his initials on it.
Apparently his staff is elated at the idea, as they will get to wear designer wear for the first time. Neil had earlier gifted his secretary Rambo a bike when he got his first pay cheque. The unit has already started wearing the uniform on the sets of Freeze and will be leaving for a major schedule to Bangkok tonight.
Narendra Kumar said confirmed that he has designed these uniforms for his team, as it is a part of his image-building exercise. They also design his clothes for his film and when he came up with this idea, they designed for his team as well. The uniform has to reflect his style, youthful image and has to look sporty.
Kumar also confirmed that the uniform has his initials, NM embossed on them. He said, "Neil's only brief was that the look should be very youthful, trendy and stylish, and exuding a sense of energy."
